Anyone know what these are? They 'bite' the stem of the plant and I suppose suck fluids. Every few seconds a stream of fluid will shoot out their rear end. Would be interesting if it wasn't my garden!

Re: Help! Bugs!
Not sure. Maybe some liquid seven will take care of them. It seems to take care of the bugs in my garden. I mix it up in a pump-up sprayer, hold the nozzle down in front of the floor pan and slowly drive the rows.

Re: Help! Bugs!
They are on my corn, okra, and peas. Darnedest thing I've ever seen. I'd like to find out what they are. I guess I'll make a trip to see my county agent. I was trying to use as little pesticide as I could, but they've got to go!

spinosad Brand I use is Uncle Jack's dead bug brew. organic micro organisms that kills their appetite and they starve to death.
I get it at my CO-Op farm store but it can be had on line.
Spray it on in the evening, if sprayed in morning, the direct sunlight reduces its effectiveness.

Re: Help! Bugs!
That is a borer. There are dozens of variates. There are several insecticides that will control them. Look for an insecticide that contains bifenthrin (Talstar), carbaryl (Seven), imidacloprid (Admire, Merit). As always read and understand and follow the label.
