I used to sail in the Cheasapeke Bay.We hearded deer usally once or twice a year...They get spooked and jump in the water.They were mostly bucks too!!!! Kevin

We live on a rather large lake in western Maryland. On rare occasions we see deer crossing from one shore to the other. It's a distance of over a half mile. I have also seen a female black bear and three cubs crossing our cove, which is about 400 yards wide.

I took some. But, basically all you can see are black specks on the water. I'll take a look at them again.

The cubs reached shore before I could get back down with my camera. They came from the opposite shore, a little off camera to the left. This was in 2004.
