I planted some grapes this spring and did a great job or building a trellis and laying in weed barrier and mulching it....Staked them to grow with bamboo and today decided to finish my irrigation by method of a couple of soaker hoses.....But why waste water, I thought....I'll simply buy some of that flex seal stuff the guy floats his boat with...You know the one with the screen door bottom... ....And spray the hose in between the points where I want the water to spray out....Sound easy enough....Not so... Waiting a substantial time and grabbing the wife by the hand to show her my newest invention I turned on the faucet Nothing changed the hoses operated as if they had no modifications to them what so ever.....Soooooh, just thought I'd share this in case someone else decides to experiment with the same situation....Almost as bad as miracle growing my tomatoes and forgetting to take the paper seal off the top of the canister Must be the heat.....Dave

I hear you Danover....Actually, I have 2 wells with a "night light" wired on the load side so that when the pump is on, the light is on, and placed just off the bedroom ( so I can see it at night) in case I forget such matters or something different malfunctions....That "invention", is worth its weight in gold.....or water.... Yep, good idea Dave. I left the pulsating sprinkler on overnight by mistake, woke up to a mud lake! We have a fifty plus year old shot drilled well working on wearing out the third pump. First one was Meyer's stroke pump, last two are jet.

Had some seam leaks in gutter. Saw the TV ad for the flex seal stuff. Thought wow, this would be an easy repair. Didn't work as well as the advertisement.

Still not sure how they get the pickup to float level after being sealed up. Would appear to me that the front end, with motor and transmission, would ride lower in the water than the pickup bed.

My pickup bed is watertight because of the Line-X, LOL!

Guess the old adage " Don't believe everything you see on TV " is true...Kinda like believing your Army recruiter or a used car salesman....It did work on a leak on my roof vent for the bathroom until I fixed it permanently... I got a friend who went thru the ice with his truck, ice fishing but I dasn't ask him about the weight distribution or ballast or if he thought flex seal would have helped him out Oh well off to another adventure... ...Dave

Probably removed the engine/transmission/driveline--floats better that way

I bought that sealer as seen on tv, and sprayed my gutter seams 3 coats and they still leak....20 bucks down the gutter
