I was going to suggest New Holland because of the wheel color.

Bill, I really enjoy all the pics you are sharing with us. Up until 3 years ago, there was a farmer near me in Illinois that still put corn up in a crib. I believe there was only 1 guy anywhere near us that had a sheller. It's a lot of work shelling, and then you have a pile of cobs left over. It's fun to see how things were done on the farm way back when, but I'll take modern machinery any day. If the people in those pictures knew how farming is done today, they wouldn't believe it.

My Uncle Mike is the fella you see in most of the photos. He is now 87 years old and you would never know it. Yes, he knows how it's done today and sometimes he is impressed and other times I think he just liked the good old days.

That baler is a New Holland. I'm not sure about this, but I believe the model number was 76. It was the first automatic tie pickup baler New Holland made. It was left-hand pickup and had a canvass as part of the pickup feed. You can google image search "New Holland 76 baler" and see multiple pictures of them.

I was thinking, by the color combination, New Holland but didn't want to display my dumb side. Thanks, Jim, you're always a wealth of info!

Well the whole baler photo has taken a turn. After doing a little research we all figure the baler is a New Holland. (I had found a photo of a similar one on line). My cousin Jim, after talking to his dad, has confirmed they were still using the old baler since they had just bought the new M. Although Jim couldn't remember the model he did have this to say, "I remember the hay baler, giant fly wheel, Wisconsin air cooled motor, most dangerous piece of chopping equipment on two wheels."

Now can anybody ID the guy behind the wheel of the tractor. At first It was believed that it was our uncle Paul, but I noted that no one in our family wore a hat like that. Jim agreed since My Dad, Uncle Mike and Uncle Paul all wore a cap. So we go back to Uncle Mike who said it was his brother-in-law, Lawrence, who came around now and then to help out. This photo is from around 1948, but I used to shoot pool with Lawrence back in the late 70's and early 80's until just before he died, so, In looking at the pic I can see it's him.
