2005 Kentucky State Fair (Many Pics)

Just returned from the 2005 Kentucky State Fair in Louisville and had a great time. Gay (my wife) enjoyed the milk goat judging since she made a living showing LaMancha goats awhile back and I drooled over the produce and baking (and beer) entries. Just like the Inernational Livestock Expo last year the fairground folks did a splended job of everything. What follows are a few snapshots I took while exploring the exibition halls:
First up was the poultry show. We ended up with a few more Silkies in various colors to take home later.
No, these aren't miniature turkeys. They're pigeons!
A couple from the milk goat show.
Getting ready for cow judging.
Take a close look to the left of the lady spinning. That's angora rabbit hair straight off the rabbit she's spinning.
Some entries in the textile contest.
Kids had to design their own landscaping then submit a prototype of their creation.
Honey products.
One of my favorite exhibits - homemade ale (hic).
A couple wonderful miniature scenes - a medieval pub and an Egyptian museum.
They even had an Ugly Lamp Contest.
Here's a couple entries.
This one gets my vote.
Then there's the produce, etc.
Not my favorite.
Kids had to do something creative with veggies here.
Oh yeah, there were some tractors there, too (nice '51 in the foreground).
Hope to be there next year as a contestant (milk goats).
Mike-
