New Toy/Tool For Our Farm

Postby PVF1799 » Fri Aug 05, 2016 6:41 am

Hi all. For years we mowed 60 acres of fields with a 5' brush hog and the Cub deck mower. Over time the weeds and brush in the fields started to take over. They no longer stand a chance against our new mower. I'll get some videos out there before the summer is over. We've already mowed the fields 3 times. No knapweed or golden rod to be seen on our farm this year. We're putting lots of material back into the soil to improve soil health.

Looks good! Do dealers not deliver new stuff in your area? Around here if you bought something even as small as a new box blade they'd bring it to you...

To get the best price we had to drive from Altamont, NY to Bethel, PA (266 Miles One Way) to get this unit. The delivery charge from there would have been over $600. Dealers here DO NOT delivery anything for free. Lastly this unit was cheaper by $1,800 over what I could get just 40 miles from our farm. Reason being, Zimmerman Farm Service sells lots of these per year, so they get better pricing from Woods.

Now that's a Beautiful piece of equipment Ken, but are you sure the Cub can handle it??
I bet the JD 5320 can. Don't ya feel as though you have to wax something as nice as that?
You enjoy,
Bruce.

Wow. I can understand no delivery that far away. Several years ago we bought a used end wheel drill from the caseIH dealer about 40 miles away. He almost insisted on delivering it! I was surprised since it was a used machine, was expecting to have to arrange our own transportation.

Fine piece of equipment. I used to mow almost 40 ac. Used all pull type equipment and a old Bolens. All I could afford at the time.

Your piece sure will free up time to start on another cub??!
