What Constitutes a Complete 3 Point Hitch?I've got a 3 point hitch on a spare 154 Cub Loboy I picked up for parts and a gentleman is supposed to come and get it tomorrow since we use our bigger tractors for 3 point work. I would like to know, aside from the obvious, what I need to remove from the tractor to let the guy have. I want him to get everything he needs to be able to install the 3 point on his 185 LoBoy.
Re: What Constitutes a Complete 3 Point Hitch?Hydraulic selector valve(s) and all plumbing for the selector valve(s). Throw in the drive line tunnel cover - it will have the holes to match the number of hydraulic selector valves.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: What Constitutes a Complete 3 Point Hitch? There are a lot of brackets and supports for the 3-point hitch that need to go. All the 1/8" and 1/4" steel that the lower arms attach to go with the 3-point hitch. Might want to compare some pictures of tractors without the 3-point to see what is all added to support this.
You should trade some sheet metal as well. He will be removing some sheet metal to put the 3-point on. The back side of your tractor may look a little bare without it. 184 w/ Creeper & 3-Point

Re: What Constitutes a Complete 3 Point Hitch?Might be easier just to load your parts tractor on a trailer and haul to purchasers property. Let the purchaser remove all of the needed parts. When purchaser is finished, retrieve the left over, exchanged, parts.
The task will be much "easier" with both tractors sitting side by side. Be a good opportunity to sell any good PTO or other parts parts. As Boss Hog stated, you will need to strip off just about everything from the dash back. I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: What Constitutes a Complete 3 Point Hitch?Nothing wrong with the parts diagrams, except they do not represent the hydraulics of the tractors on hand. For example, my 154 has two factory installed hydraulic selector valves on the power tunnel sheet metal, and a factory installed quick connect coupling. Some models have a separate relief valve.
You will need the hydraulic parts to make the 3 point work on the intended tractor. I have an excuse. CRS.

To add to Eugene's last post: Hydraulic System Suggest you print off all those pages and take them with you along with your parts 154 to the guy and go from there. As Eugene said, who knows what else you might be able to part with along the way. Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Re: What Constitutes a Complete 3 Point Hitch?I got it all and they guy is happy. I thank you all for the input on what to include with it other than the obvious. We ended up letting him have a bunch of stuff besides the 3 point just becasuse we wouldn't need it. Thanks again.
