Alternator belt size for 184

Postby Jackel440 » Sat Apr 28, 2018 7:49 am

Alright after my engine fiasco. I got her running and went out to mow and it broke the belt
I searched and couldn't find any info on the belt. I see listings for tractors with a generator/starter. The old belt had a napa # on it
Xl 25-7480
Now it was either really worn or was too narrow as it sit down real far in the groove. So I have been trying to find the correct part number but haven't had any luck finding a listing for the 184.
Anyone have any information on the correct belt size or original part #

Pay very close attention to sizes of non-oem belts. The IH part number will pull up several replacements and they are all slightly different in outside circumference. The belt I bought at NAPA (that is still on the tractor) is a bit small... Might be the same one you just broke. D&D has one that I found on Amazon and their size looks closest to correct.

I read that thread but it's referencing a belt for a 154 with a generator. Not sure that it's the same.

Same belt, 3/8 X 48 with the 48 being the outside diameter.
So, a 3L480 belt
