154 Bearings

Postby tmays » Sun Jul 22, 2018 12:59 pm

Needing the two ujoints on the driveshaft. Didn’t see them on hamiltonbobs site. Also need the bearing that’s next in line from the ujoints toward the flywheel. Looks like a swing bearing? Held by two bolts. I realize I can probably get the ujoints at parts store but not so sure about the bearing

Wondered about that. Looked at parts manual and didn’t see any. Mine is a 69. Just assumed that manual I looked at was a later version. If they don’t belong, then PO was a machinist or had it done.

Not certain what you may have on your tractor. The 184 has a U-Joint and I used a NAPA U-Joint. It fit well in the 184 driveshaft.

How does the driveshaft get removed at the flywheel? It appears there is a through bolt connecting the end of the shaft to the flywheel, but can’t get socket or wrench on it.

Bearing for the pto pulley on the driveshaft needs replaced is reason why I’m doing this

Found a thin wall socket that let me get the bolt out. But that didn’t help any. Looks like I’m disassembling a bunch of crap. Lol

Looks like I will need to slide engine forward. What’s the procedure for this? Thought for a minute I had it figured out.
