Assuming it lugs down and dies as you let the clutch out, it most likely has the the shifter broken or a rail guide broken and it is in 2 gears at the same time.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Can you put the tractor in neutral and then push the tractor forward and backward?
I have an excuse. CRS.

Could it be possible you have Ice in the transmission or final drives

I was driving it around in third gear then all the sudden it lugged right down and stalled. I thought it just ran out of power. Started it back up and put it in first gear started to let the clutch out and stalled. If it’s in neutral and let the clutch out it stalls. When the tractor is off and in neutral it rolls fairly hard. I appreciate the info guys this 184 is fairly new to me and trying to figure it out.

Most likely ignition related fault.

Suggest a complete engine tune up and could possibly be a faulty coil.

If it rolls fairly hard in neutral, i'm betting either as was said earlier, it's in 2 gears, or something in the driveline is bound up. Could be the brakes rusted up. I'd start by jacking up the back of the tractor and seeing if you can get the rear wheels to spin freely. In neutral they should spin independent (free) of each other. If the transmission is in a gear, one will spin forward and the other backward. Start here then let us know what you find.

If it’s in two gears it won’t roll.
Check brakes, linkage, peddles stuck down. I had the peddles stick as soon as I brought it home. So rusted and so much goop they didn’t move freely. Plus bushing and shaft were wore to the point I felt I needed to make new ones.
If you want something to change you must change something.

Check the easy stuff first. Never assume the worst fist, gets expensive fast many times for the wrong thing
