Same way you remove it from a standard Cub. Bearing splitter. Before pulling the pulley, place a bolt in the threaded hole in the end of the crankshaft.cubber wrote:How do you remove the pulley from the front of the crankshaft?
If you do not have a bearing splitter, borrow one or purchase quality.
Search function. Several videos and posts on this site, pulling the pulley.

I tried my splitter but the timing pointer wont let the splitter center on the crankshaft. BTW , I am cubby from my cell phone. Don't ask, its a long story.

See if you can borrow one, home made for the Cub. Or make one using the plans available on this site.Eugene wrote:If you do not have a bearing splitter, borrow one or purchase quality.

the pointer is press fit in a machined boss. It can be removed
There were some pulley pullers built using some custom cut steel, 1/2" all thread and a 2ton bottle jack.

Here's a simpler one in the How To Forum under the "Engine, Clutch, Transmission and Hydraulics" section: http://farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=44517&p=367969&hilit=pulley#p367969
Would encourage you to explore the How To Forum; lots of practical info there...

Re: 184 engine rebuild
I had a hard time with removing this while still on the engine. I ended up pulling the crankshaft out (with the pulley and front cover still attached) and removing them on the bench.
