Met A 154 Today

Postby ctltmp » Thu Jun 18, 2020 8:04 pm

Have a 53, 49, 47 Cub. Never saw need for a lo-boy.

Stopped today to check on a sickle bar mower. A 154 had a stare down with me. Looks to be early 70's, guy didn't know for sure. Needs a good bit of work. He asked 600, sure he would take 500.

I already used the "this one is your tractor excuse on her. What do I do now???

Does it come with a mid mounted mower or any other equipment?

Tell her the truth, it's a parts tractor. That should work for the purchase.

Bit of tinkering. Tell her it's in better shape than I though and it's not going to take much to get into working condition.

They are great lawn mowers and more comfortable to operate than a standard Cub.

Good tips. It does have a mower under it. Looks like a 54. The guy did say that PTO wasn't working. Looks like a pretty common problem.

Jewelry is way down the female attraction list. It's chocolate, purses, shoes, clothes, babies, then jewelry.

Dear. The seller discounted the price $30- so I could purchase a box of your favorite chocolate. Here, it's just for you. I couldn't resist such a great deal.

Clarification. It never worked for me. Worth a try until a better idea comes along.

Well we have a farm sale today and she has her eye on some antiques. Could be leverage. But, I also have my eye on a hit and miss. Sounds like a wash.......

The pto clutches are not hard to fix---just EXPENSIVE! ---does it have creeper gear??? ---- THAT is what makes them a REAL mower!

There a cub cadet on steroids a mowing machine.

My pto on number 1 / 154 needed the rotating engagement shift bearings everything else was good. I would engage the pto and she would pop right out. Two bearings from Hamiltonbobs cubs fixed that.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
