Cub 154 carb and governor questions??

I have some gas leak out of my 154 carb at the weep hole after the tractor has been shut down. Is it unburnt gas running back from the cylinders or it it a needle/float problem?
I don't know if my new bumper spring in the governor is screwed in too much. The tractor idles down to low idle ok but at high idle, if you move the carb control rod and increase rpm +50 over max and let go like the manual says, it corrects instantly with no surging. The manual says 2 surges are ok. Thanks!!!

Unburned gasoline won't condense and leak out the carburetor. The extra gas is coming thru the needle valve or from an internal leak within the carb. What brand carburetor do you have?

Hmm IH Carb.. I am assuming you mean the 3/4 Updraft?

If so then browsing Carl's fine encylopedia of IH Cub Carb tidbits will be useful...

Lurker Carl's Cub Carb Fixes.

I would suggest you contemplate rebuilding your carb. Never hurts especially if it hasn't been done in a while. If you do, make sure you get the proper kit -- a Genuine IH kit.. they are available through your local dealer or via Bermuda Ken over at Carter & Grunewald.
