Postby brian kov » Sun Sep 02, 2007 4:50 pm

what is the easiest way to remove the steering wheel , it seems to be locked up , i sprayed it many times , do i need some heat or what . the wheel is junk now any how ,its all busted off in the center hub section .i have the nut loose and tried a 3 jaw puller . i need to remove to get under the dash and change the solinoid hopefully that will fix my lack of starting issue .

Last one I removed. I loosened the nut, sprayed with solvent. Sat in the seat. Put knees under the steering wheel and pryed up - piece of 2x4 on nut and rapped 2x4 with hammer.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I need to remove mine soon and i'm thinking of drilling 3 tapped holes equally spaced apart to use a steering wheel puller or a harmonic balancer puller(stronger). I need to put in a new upper bushing in it.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

mine needs a new upper bushing also as well as a solenoid way under the dash ,it is too hard to try and get to from the other side , i can probably get it unscrewed from the front but i couldnt imagine trying to reattach the 3 wires on to the solenoid down in the hole . :x
