IH 185 loboy hyg oil tank locationI have a older 1957 IH loboy 185, when it gets cold about 30 degree outside, my hyg's don't work. can it be low on fluid and where is the tank for the hyg's located? thank you a city boy
Frank, it may be low on fluid or you may have water in the system freezing up in the colder temperatures. I would recommend a drain, flush and re-fill with fresh hydraulic fluid such as hy-tran or similar.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that! http://www.cubtug.com
Frank - Also, if you are looking for the "tank", I think you'll find that the hyg's use the transmission for the reserve. Plug should be on rear of transmission, 3/8" drive. Most likely you have water in there.

IS THERE A PLUG ON TOP LIKE THE CUBS , TO REFILL ONCE IT HAS BEEN DRAINED.

Frank - you may also want to verify your serial number. 185's were only produced from 74 thru 76 so a 57 - 185 lo-boy is not possible.
If it is indeed a number series lo-boy, the oil reservoir is the tranny / differential housing. Bigdog
