184 PTO
I learned something while going thru my intcub owners manual and repair manual. While looking at the int184 the PTO belts are on the rear part of the drive shaft after the clutch. Its not a live PTO. I guess the int154 & the int185 are the only ones to have a live PTO. I thought that IH would of taken the PTO pulleys from infront of the flywheel before the clutch on the int184. Just food for thought.....
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

It has been awhile since I looked at a 184 but seems like the pulleys were around the clutch, connected to the flywheel. The 184 does have an independent PTO.

The 184 does have a live PTO.
If you look at the photo below on the left you can see how it is constructed. The PTO pulleys are clamped to the flywheel over the clutch to allow the pulleys to still turn with the engine while the clutch is pushed in.

Re: 184 PTO
The 184 has the best PTO setup (I.M.O.) of the 3 numbered lowboys.
To extend the life of the PTO, idle the engine down before engaging or disengaging the PTO clutch. Your clutch and pocketbook will love you!!!

Re: 184 PTO
I didn't see that in the pic thats an awesome way to set it up too. My pic was kind of fuzzy. The engineers at IH were smart guys/gals.
