154 Bargain

Postby hurleyjd » Sun May 03, 2009 1:30 pm

Just seen a nice 154 on Dallas Craigslist $1650, three point and woods mower and straight as everything. A lady give me 154 that was in pretty sad shape. I have been out over a thousand so far and not near there. Always run in to the bargains after you have spent more than enough on the one you have. Now I need to know is there a twelve step program somwhere that can cure the itch to buy any old Cub that needs a home and try to fix it. I need to go to one.

My first 154 was only $800 and it needed a mower drive belt. (napa $30) And it runs and has the 3pt and the 3260 mower deck. My two next 154's cost me a lot more when i add it up. We do run into better prices than what we paid before but i try to buy them too. I'm up to 7 cub cadets with number 8 on the way so i'm way beyond the 12 step program now. I have one fcub but i'm thinking of getting more of the letter series farm tractors down the road too. (super A's, Super C's, Super H and maybe a MD. thats my dream right now if i can break away from the 154's and the cadets for a while. Either way its fun and i'm happy and broke at times too while looking for my next fix. Its only my mad money anyway.....

Will there be more 154's or fcub's added to my collection? Only if the price is very affordable. My #8 cub cadet is free and she runs too.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

The 154 I have came loaded for $1200.00. It wasn't pretty but had mid & rear lifts, dual brakes , a creeper gear,a 60 mower deck, a tiller, and a front blade (snow?) It's been a good little tractor

The 12 step program consists of buying 11 cubs. when you go bankrupt because of your obsession, you have reached step 12 and are cured. :tears:
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Boy i got it really bad now, i have 3 int154's and was told there is another for sale nearby so i went after that one too. Luckily it was gone already. I need to get away from the int154's and cub cadets and get some larger IH tractors.

And the cost is only $1200

John

Just east of Indianapolis on 40. THe guy says the crank alone is worth $300, is why he is "only" charging $1200.
