154 c-60 update

Postby JGtools » Tue Dec 22, 2009 7:53 pm

the owner of the machine shop had me over, showed me the oil burning problem, The rings were all intact, but end play in sleeve was .020 out, loose in bore, and of course wear in piston ring grooves. He showed me how he measures everything, and the journals on the crank. I guess I'm the kind of guy that needs to see things done with my eyes first, It was very informative. next time, working on a engine I will be better prepared. This guy builds Mod 1 and mod 2 engines for race cars , he took me in the back to the Dyno room, fired one up for me, control room is insulated from fire room, you could feel the power under your feet. that was way cool. Happy holidays to you all,Jim

Unless it has had some previous machine shop work done, that is not sleeved. It requires boring, like a car.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
