Re: manufacturing of the 1970's Cub tractors
All of the Cubs were built in the Louisville works in Kentucky. As IH was selling Cub Cadet to MTD, a new plant was built in Brownsville, TN, and the Louisville works were sold, demolished, etc. Most of the new Cub Cadet tractors, 2500 and 3000 series, are built in the Brownsville plant to this day. The smaller stuff is MTD built, and the larger stuff is now built by Yanmar.
They do still use Federal Yellow and the Cream White, but the color variations have changed slightly over the years. Cub Cadet used some REALLY LOUSY paint in the 1990s and early 2000s, but they have fixed that problem. The current colors are not exactly the same as what was used in the 1970s, but you can still get those colors from a Cub Cadet dealer or a Case IH dealer.
