final drive and trans assembly 154

Postby JGtools » Thu Feb 11, 2010 10:27 pm

on the 154 lo boy I ran into a little trouble trying to mate the final drive and transmission assembly to the frame. I was able to get the left and right side differential bolts into the frame on both sides, the right side has 3 shims that go between frame and diffy housing , and 2 bolts , had no problems with that, but there are two lower bolts with spacers that mount on bottom frame and go into the bottom of the transmission housing below input shaft , I cannot get them to line up, Ill try again tomorrow , probably have to loosen the other bolts up and try jacking up on transmission housing a little , any ideas? thanks,Jim

I did manage to mate the final drive an trans assembly to the frame. I had to remove the side frame bolts, and install the lower 2 bolts under input shaft and frame first, then it worked out just fine. Jim
