72" Mower ???

Postby gitractorman » Mon May 10, 2010 3:26 pm

Hey guys,
This 154 that I just picked up has a mower deck that measures 72" wide. I didn't think that anything larger than 60" was available. This one sure does mow nice. I had it off, cleaned it and sharpened the blades over the weekend, then mowed with it last night. I think I saw a tag, I'll try to scrape the paint off and see what it says.

I'd take off the outer blades and get a shorter belt. The idea is more seat time, not less! :D

Mine is 72" across also, with a 60" cutting patch. It's an IH 3260. the tag is on the left side toward the rear. All I could read is the part #. Another member told me what it was. It's in great shape. Wish I had some new blades for it though. :(

Yea, I checked again last night and found the same thing. 72" wide, but 60" cut. I found the tag, but could only read the serial number. The blades on this one were pretty rounded over, but I was able to grind them to a nice edge. It actually cuts very well. Someone will be happy with this one. The guy that I brought it up here for has backed out on the deal, so it is now for sale. I just picked up a Cub for myself, and don't have space for the 154.

Thanks,
Bill
