Good day. I finally went down to look at this LoBoy that I have a chance to buy. It looks pretty good, runs well, has the three point hitch and comes with the tiller in the pictures. It cuts well but the mower deck is probably going to need a little work. It has been kinda beat up. The price I was given was $2K. Seem like a decent price for what it is to me. Any opinions?
Thanks
Richard

and a couple more. The tines look like they have never been in the ground.

Richard: Welcome to a fellow Canuck... Manitoba .. cool. Well for 2k that seems to be a good deal. For 2k here -- it might get a rough 154... they are pricey out on the east coast. You get a Roto-Tiller, Hitch and a Mower with it Yup.. good deal. I do not have a lot of information on the Numbered Series Cubs, but there is some information - Parts Catalog, Owner's Manual - I&T Service manual and an Implement Parts Catalog I think... follow the links below Keep us posted -- let us know if you decide to get it..

Welcome aboard Richard, Sounds like a great deal to me. I got my 154 in good condition without the 3 pt and tiller for $2500. Of course I'm in Colorado which is not Loboy country. I still love it though. Unfortunately I now need a bigger trailer to haul it around. Always something

Richard, Welcome! Yes, you have found a GREAT deal! Those tillers are EXTREMELY hard to find, in any condition, let alone one that looks like it has hardly been used at all. If the tractor has a 3-point and a tiller, it should also have a creeper drive, small round knob, about calf high, in the left footwell, that pulls in/out - rear/forward. That creeper drive is a must for using a tiller. I also just noticed that the tractor still has the fiberglass grill surround, another big +. Those grill surrounds can go for as much as $200 by themselves (yes, two hundred dollars). Jump on that deal and run!

Ya that means that your butt won't get wet after it rains and mine will. Thanks for the input guys. Bill, I was wondering about the tiller. I have googled tillers available for these tractors and have not come up with anything. I will be jumping on the deal tomorrow. Rudi, thanks for the links. The owners manual is nice to see. Richard

I have a matching tiller (yes, with the identical paint condition) with a few more hours on it. The replacement tines are quite pricey, but the tiller does a really nice job. It really eats sod for lunch and digs up more rocks than you can imagine! The tiller is a big workout for the tractor, but it really does a good job. Use a short motorcycle tie-down to keep your mower deck in the up position while tilling. Lift the mower deck and attach the rockshaft arm to the right foot peg. A Pics of the manual for your IH Model 15 tiller is attached. (can someone get this into the CBOK?) Enjoy your find, you got a great deal!
