How NOT to Install VW Diesel into a 154

I found these two pictures on the web and thought that others might enjoy them. The pictures are of a 1981 VW Rabbit Diesel that someone "cobbled" into a 154. The basic idea was good - just poor execution. I believe that a "remote" oil filter adapter is available from VW for different model VW's. I believe that the starter could have been re-located to the 10:30 position (looking from the front of the engine toward the back) with a simple adapter plate and a Chevy Geo starter. At least the pictures give confirmation that the VW water pump fits between the 154 frame. I think that a different VW Intake Manifold is also available that is less "curvey" and more "L" shaped, that might fit with the hood better.

Interesting pictures though !!!

That was on Ebay a few weeks ago, I think it went for $1100 or $1200.
I think it also reported the motor smoked.
