What Other Mowers Fit Cub 154 Lo Boy?

Besides the Woods M59 that is on my 1970 Lo Boy and the 3260, are there other belt driven mower decks that will work? Any new mowers that will work?

I ask because I live in western PA and there are not many sources for Woods mowers. Mine is rusted through and needs replaced. I am the 3rd owner and the 1st two did not take very good care of the mower deck. i.e. dropping it and cleaning it.

I either want to replace mine with another M59 or I would like to buy something new to work with.

There were only IH built decks and Woods decks for the lo-boy tractors. Your best bet will be a Woods mower, especially if you already have all the attaching hardware. You should be able to contact a Woods dealer and just order the deck shell. Alternatively, if yours is working ok and just the deck is rotting away, a metal fabricator can easily repair the deck, as it is just sheet steel.

I would be suprised if you don't have a Woods dealer locally. Nearly every Ag equipment dealer is also a Woods dealer. They may not carry much inventory, but since Woods makes mowers and attachments for so many tractors, most dealerships can order Woods equipment.

I just got a quote today from a fabricating shop for a replacement pan for a 3160, (which is VERY simple). With all the oval holes cut in it and a 1" lip on the front and rear, they wanted $325.00. Without holes but lips bent, $225.00. Three pieces of 6x1 "L" shaped panels 60" long, $35.00. I'm gonna do the patch panels and weld them on myself. The only thing wrong with my deck is the lips are rusted away.

It was funny . . . I dropped the deck complete with the long attaching arms and slid it out from underneath. Picked it up by the rear arms to roll it around on the front wheels, it would flex in the middle enough that I could almost remove the belts without loosening the spindles.

I have the 3160 on my 185 but I like the 42 better for serious crabgrass mowin!---and whatever else that gets in the way!
cant beat the 3160 for lawn mowin,---and roadside mowin!---I had to rebuild mine when I got it and now you could use it for a bulldozer after I got done adding iron to it! thanks; sonny

Try contacting "HamiltonBob" (Ohio) - sometimes he has 'stripped' mower deck pans for sale.

Look on ebay - there is a mower pan for sale (Ohio), starting bid $100.
Don't know if it is a Woods; but, it looks like it might be one.
