There may not be a selector valve. Download the operator manual from the "manuals" link above. You can loosen the belts from the access panel on the right side , removing the belts is a bit more work.

Steve,
Welcome to the forum, and welcome again from another Western New Yorker! I'm up in Grand Island, between Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

If there is a selector valve, the selector valve should be on the transmission/driveshaft tunnel cover, just below the key switch, and actually looks like a black, flat plastic cover, about 2" in diameter (if it is the original piece) Many of them were replaced with a knob that is easier to move. The knob should pull up (to operate the rear lift) or push down (to operate the belly lift). Since the majority of time the belly lift is used, these valves are commonly stuck in the down position.

The hydraulic fluid will lift one cylinder, then the other depending on which is loaded heavier. Just pull back on the lift lever and eventially both cylinders will extend. The cylinders are one way or single acting so they will need some weight to pull them into the closed position or retracted position. The hydraulic system will not do that.Push the lift lever forward and it should lock into the float position and you can push the 3 point down and may also be able to move the lower cylinder. The 3 point cylinder should have a latch to lock it into the mid retracted position if you do not want both cylinders working at the same time. I am not sure if there is a lock for the lower cylinder but you should read the owner's manual.

You could put a diverter valve on the tractor but depending on what you do you may not need one.

I do not have a photo but download the owner's manual from the free manual server, it will have a photo of the 3 point lock.

The 3 Point Hydraulic 'Lock-Out' bar goes from the top hole just above the lower right hand horizontal 3 point implement attachment bar and the top of the hydraulic cylinder ram pin with a longer than standard pin. The lock-out bar mounts vertically right next to the hydraulic cylinder. Sometime hamiltonbob on ebay has them for sale - you need the longer top pin and a regular 7/8" lower pin (tractor supply). See attached picture.
