154 loboy infoHELP: I have a 154 loboy w/ belly mower,(just got It) I"ve seen other 154s with front plow blades & rear 3pts. Can these be added to all 154s or did they have to come with those options. Just starting to learn about my new baby. I also have a old (1959?) IH tractor w/ a front loader and a backhoe that I'm going to need some help getting info on.. Hope someone can help me out Thanks Larry
Re: 154 loboy infoYou can do anything if you have the money. There's a used 3-pt setup on eBay from hamiltonbobscubs that is listed for $745.00. This doesn't include the "selector" valve that gives true independent movement of the rockshaft or 3-pt. He also has the valve listed for $295.00.
As you can see, it gets real expensive real quickly . . . then you get to look for and buy 3-pt implements. Of course those don't "have" to be IH branded.
Re: 154 loboy infoHi Larry,
Before you buy a 3 Point be sure you need one. They are expensive. Also, be sure you can find the correct implements. The 154 3 Point 154 impliments are hard to find, and if you use regular 3 Point equipment you will need the very hard to find "Reverser" . The reverser changes the direction, reduces the speed from 1040 RPM to 540 RPM and changes the size of the PTO shaft. Re: 154 loboy infoAlso be aware of the lifting capabilities of the loboy. When it comes to using the 3-point with a disk or other implement it is easy to overload the 3-point and lift the front tires off the ground.
I have the 3-point and it is useful for the IH Tiller (which is designed for the loboy), a rear blade, 1-bottom plow, limited use of a small disk, carry-all and 3-point lift pole. Other than that, most of the loboy tools were designed to be underbelly or front mounted. 184 w/ Creeper & 3-Point
