Farmall Cub

what would be a good weight for the frt,, rear ratio im thinking 125 150 off the frt and 200 on the rear . or is that to much ya think. costum front holder with suitcase weights and a costum rear carry all type for rear with the ballone tires i cant even make it up my paved hill driveway when wet .and the front tires just push and dont bite rears wont bite on anything either ..im getting the ag tires and rims as soon as some come within driving distance and resonable price. thanx steve.its for a freshly rebuit 154 powerd cub low boy by the way

I've changed my 184's wide turf tires over to AG tires on Cub rims and centers with a set of Farmall A wheel weights on the rear. With wide floatation tires on the front with no weights. This combination seems to work on what little snow we have had, and works to move some gravel around. The rear pressure is 11 PSI. The 184 has dual brakes so I have some steering control.

I picked up a pair of 10"wide x 24" farmall a rims and i plan on fitting them to the fcub rim centers to mount 11.2 AG's on them. I also have the 650-10 3 rib tires for the front. I figure to load the tires for added weight too.

I don't think the 11.2 ag tires will work that well on a lo-boy. The larger diameter will throw off the stance of the tractor, and I doubt that you will be able to mount a belly mower, since they nearly touch the regular tires on a lo-boy. That along with the increadible loss in torque may make the tractor relatively useless. Several manufacturers offer the ag-style tire in the factory 13.6 x 16 size, and they look great on the lo-boys. They're expensive, however by the time you figure the cost of rims, fabrication, cost of 11.2 tires, youre probably pretty close to these.

how much do those tires cost. are they the firestone ag tires....... what model# ?? the look good bill.. steve

I did not buy these, they were on another forum that I visited. I believe they are Firestones, and I think that I remember him saying they were around $750 for the set. I know that's really expensive for tires, however I have not priced the same size turf tires lately either. I think this size of tire is fairly expensive, regardless of the style. The good news is, like most of the original diamond tread turf tires, they will likely be the last tire you will ever buy for this tractor as you just cannot seem to wear them out.

I have a set of Farmall cub tires, rims, centres and weights (300#) for sale. They will bolt right onto your loboy. They are 8.3 x 24 inch. There is some weather checking but they hold air. $200.00 for the set. I am located in southern Ontario, Canda. Thanks, Ted

id buy em if ya could bring to the american side of border.but i think its a 3 or 4 hr drive from border to ontario. and shipping dragbike parts accross the pond was always a chore with the customs with the crazy things that happen nowdays. ill find a set they seem to part these cubs out alot. your price is right .thanx .steve
