154 clutch removal
I need to remove the main clutch on the 154, need to replace bushing, and possibly rebuild clutch after inspecting. Question: Do I need to move engine forward , to achieve removal of clutch>? I should get my manual back this week, and that will help! thanks,Jim

Re: 154 clutch removal
It depends on what year your int154 is. The early one '68 has the PTO driver pulley on the drive shaft so you need to slide the engine forward to remove the driveshaft. With the newer 154's the PTO pulley is on the engine flywheel with a hole in the center. If you remove the pin from the 4 bolt coupling the shaft will slide in the hole in the flywheel and the splines will slide out of the clutch disc at the sametime. Now it depends on which year the 154 is and were the PTO driver pulley is.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Re: 154 clutch removal
thanks Big Bill, I have a newer 154, and the pulley is located at the flywheel, I should not have to move engine forward. thanks again,Jim
