Thanks everyone. I'm anxious to get to work on it now. The two 1811s in the background went out to the Decoy Club yesterday, and I took the 184 just to mess around with it. She's got a little blow by (very little) and something in the driveline is a bit noisy, but I think it is the U joint on the driveshaft at the transmission. At a certain engine speed it makes no noise at all, so it may just need to be greased.
I need to drop the mower and clean the deck and sharpen the blades. It was mowing pretty lousy, but I know the blades are dull and the deck is packed full of grass. We were mowing some pretty heavy stuff with it, so I had to go over things a couple of times. After seeing the blowby, I wished that I had dumped a can of Sea Foam in the crankcase prior to going out to the Club. Guess I'll just have to run her a bit here

.
Outdoors4ever: This one is a pretty plane Jane model. Nothing but the mower deck. There is a number welded on top of the front axle, so I'm guessing that it was owned by a golf course or a municipality somewhere. Turns out that I had a center cap for the steering wheel, although faded and yellow, but I stuck it on there anyway. I need to get the little fin/hood ornament that goes on the radiator cap. That's the only other part that I've found missing.
I'm holding off doing much to her yet. I had a standing order from a couple of people for one of these tractors, and one guy stopped by last night to look at it, so I offered it to him for what I have in it now. If he doesn't take it, I'll be ordering some front tires and going over her with a fine tooth comb.
Thanks,
Bill
