I've never had a 184. Does this look like a good deal? What should I look for when I take a look at it? Thanks

I'd say it's a pretty good deal if it runs and operates as it should. Looks nice and straight. Worth at least checking out I think. Just check the normal stuff, blow-by, clutch, gear noise... The 184 has the clutch on the engine rather than the transmission like the 154 and 185.

Re: Worth checking out?
Probably worth the grand for a mowermachine. I personally think they are just a tad under powered for a 60 inch mower. The large tires do well on flat ground they lose traction quickly on hill sides. Ag tires would have been a better idea from IHC. The engineers could have made many things much easier to get to from a maintenance point of view. But, that is JMHO. Your mileage may vary. Good luck.
