Really, no need to install a diverter valve. At most you will need to fabricate a lock out bar for the 3-point hitch.

Down load and read the operator's manual for the tractor.

thanks for the info. I ordered a service manual. I will be glad when it gets here so I can service it. One more question will the lift off a 154 work on a 185?

The service information is contained in the Operator's Manual. You really need to copy off the Operator's Manual, and read through it a time or two.

The service manual is a repair manual.

I do not know what an exact origional valve costs (diverter valve) but Northern Tool has one that will work fine and looks very close to origional for $99. Here is a link
