154 generator voltage question

With the tractor running and the gen/starter disconnected from the reg what voltage should you get half throttle so you
no its ok prior to the reg install..Thanks

The largest load on the starter/generator is cranking over, starting the engine. If the starter/generator cranks over the engine, it's working, and will charge.

If you are testing maximum generator output while the engine is running, ground the F (field) terminal and measure the voltage off the A (armature) terminal. Believe it's supposed to be 16 volts or so.
