Farmall Cub

Did IH make a pusher fan for the 154-184 series? I seem to be picking up a lot of debris (stuck to the grill / radiator) when mowing with my 154.

Tall grass, considering how much debris get blown up and on me and is caught up in the radiator when mowing, not sure a pusher fan would help very much. Thinking the debris would just be caught up on the inside of the radiator.

Only thing I do is blow out (air compressor) the radiator as needed. I no longer have a grill on my 154, mower tractor, just a brush guard. Makes cleaning out the radiator much easier. My standard Cub, I have to remove the grill to clean out the radiator fins. Kind of a pain.

I never had that problem but I check the air cleaner paper element often. I been thinking of adding a pre-cleaner on it if I find its a problem. I figure a woman's nylon stocking would fit the paper element.

For the radiator a window screen may do as an outer layer on the grill screen. We don't want to plug up the radiator and cause over heating.

Dumb question? What if we reversed the fan blade so it blows out instead of in? If we added the six blade fan?

I just use the shop vac on it when it gets loaded up. Works better than trying to blow the chaff out from the back. I never want to risk bending up a radiator.

I picked up a six bladed fan for cooling. This higher draw could be a problem with grass too. I'll have to watch it.

I thought about that too, and also have the same concerns you do

I have one 154 with the 6-blade fan, but it also has a larger pulley than the 4-blade fan so the 6-blade turns slower. Could the resultant air flow have been the same for both types?
