Can the rear main seal retainer be removed from the engine without removing the engine from the tractor.
Thanks for any input on this subject.

I have never worked on one, but form other posts I have read I think you must tear it down enough to slide the engine forward to do it. TST, one of the members of this site redoes them for a different seal that helps with the problem of new seals leaking.

The older 154's will require the engine to be slid forward (but still in the tractor).
The younger 154's do not require the engine to be moved and can be done in tractor.
