How do you remove the clutch on a 185?

To remove the clutch, you have to slide the drive shaft forward enough for it to come out of the clutch flywheel. Remove the clutch yoke. Remove the bolt at the forward end of the drive shaft. Depending on how much rust or paint is on the shaft, it will now slide forward a few inches into the engine flywheel coupler (you may need to sand the shaft smooth to get it to move). Once the shaft comes out of the clutch flywheel, it will drop down and can be removed. Remove the bolt through the clutch flywheel that holds it onto the transmission input shaft and slide the clutch and flywheel off that shaft.
All this can be done after removing the tunnel cover, side covers, seat, and fenders.
When you reinstall the clutch flywheel, be sure to use the correct length bolt or it will hit the clutch brake bracket.
