185 Front Wheel Size

Postby jsosbe » Thu Feb 25, 2016 7:04 am

I recently purchased a lo boy 185 for next to nothing, but its in diar need of some tlc. It looks like someon put foam filled fork truck tires on the front... Im wanting turf tires but im not sure what size rims came on the tractor. It came with a Woods mower deck that I do plan on using, so I need ride height and all that to be factory. Also, bolt pattern? Any help or direction is appreciated. Thanks!

You may find some manuals helpful too.

The 154 section has a parts book and many will apply to a 185

TC 131, Parts Catalog for numbered Cubs shows two different style rims and hubs. You need to check your tractor to see what type you have and which axle. Then make a decision.

If you have a rim that bolts to the hub, take a look at garden tractor rear rims and tires. Most/some garden tractor rears bolt up directly to the standard Cub's front hub.

If you have the rim with the bearings, you probably will need to purchase new tires.

Edit: Same parts book only shows one type of knuckle assembly. With that knuckle assembly the wheel bearings fit inside the rims.
I have an excuse. CRS.
