Torque Specs for C60 engine

Postby SteveCanup » Mon Mar 06, 2017 10:24 pm

I have looked all over this forum for torque specs for the C60 engine. I am doing an "in frame" rebuild for a friend who just bought a '73 Cub Lo boy 154 just to mow his horse lot. It had a cracked head when he brought it to me and I have torn the engine down and found the block, cylinders, pistons, etc to be in good shape. I have amassed parts to rebuilt the engine, honed the cylinders today and was ready to begin the rebuild. I realized also that I have overlooked the valves. Two of the exhaust valves need to be lapped as they will not seal. I cannot find info on this site on how to remove the valves. Can anyone direct me in the right direction, or provide the torque specs for the main and rod bolts and the head bolts as well as info on how to remove the valves. Thanks.

Steve, If you click on "Quick Links" above, then "PDF Manuals", then "Service Manuals", then "Blue Ribbon Service Manuals", then GSS-1411, I think you'll find the info you're looking for.

Old post but added for reference: Check GSS 1408 recently posted. It has quite a bit of engine rebuild information.
