Been having some problems with my 154 steering. I'm in the process of putting on new hubs, steering knuckles and hopefully the bushings. The bushings are number 8 in the attached image. My problem is that I can't get the old bushings out of the axle housing. They are very tight and don't move with a little tapping. I'm afraid I will ruin the axle if I try to beat them out.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I tried to add an image but not sure it works. I can't see it myself.

Steering Knuckle Arm Removal
I can see the steering knuckle arm is fairly easy to remove, at least it was on mine. My PROBLEM however is removing the bushings that fit over the top and the bottom of the knuckle and into the axle. The bushings are item 8 in the attached image. I would greatly appreciate any ideas on how to get the old bushings out so I can replace with new bushings? thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Steering Knuckle Arm Removal
Hi,
If the bushings are tight in the axle holes, you have to either drive them out hammering, or press them out. I haven't read the service manual for that model of tractor, looks like it is not a Farmall Cub.
Read the service manual for it, if you have it, or if there is one online, and see what it says.

Re: 154 steering knuckle bushings
If you are not concerned with saving the old bushings you can clean the grease out and cut them with a hacksaw/saws all and then should be able to drive them out. May have to cut more than once. Cutting should not damage the axle.
