154 loose steering - another solution
Finally able to pay back in a small way for all the knowledge I've gained reading posts here for my Cub and 154. Picked up a 154 the other week with about 1/2 turn of play in the steering wheel. After following the suggestions from other posts tightening the castle nut, I powerwashed the underside and decided to unbolt the steer bracket under the engine. I guess someone hit something. Anyway, after some wire brushing, some work in a press to straighten, grind and a quick weld, it's reasonably tight again. Not rocket science, just something to pass on.

These 154 numbered cub lowboys sure take a beating and abuse. How did they bend that bracket?
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
