Yup, it can happen before you realize it. Jeff who bought our farm and lives close to me was working on a round baler, and somehow bumped a control or it decided to cycle, and the rear closed while he was working inside. It caught his legs and held him with no way to get out till his wife came home a couple hours later and helped him get it raised enough to get out.
