WEll the season has been a long one but after 2 weeks of rain, pretty weather and lots of ticks I finally sealed the deal on a trophy gobbler. Ive seen lots of birds this season but passed on them. Ive learned in all my years of hunting that
if you want to kill a great trophy you have to pass on the good ones and thats very hard to do once your season is in its last few days

Out of six strutters this was the grandpappy of the farm Ive been hunting. He weighed in at 28.5 lbs(awesome for a KY bird), 11.5 inch beard and 1 3/8 spurs. Needless to say Im on cloud nine right now
