My taters are growing

I was asked by my lovely wife to "look at" our kenebeck's.

This is what I found.

We keep them in the baskets in our mud room with no supplied heat. Coverd with a cloth to keep them dark. They have all sprouted like this.

Guese we need to try something different next year.
 
Good Bill, I will bring them down in a couple weeks. Ya better get the bed ready. They are no longer good for eating and I hate for them to go to waste.

Won't be long.....I had a great-great uncle that always planted his on Valentine's day or shortly thereafter...

Keep the sprouts picked off and keep them at near 32 degrees as possible without actually freezing them!---also keep them dark.---Right now knock off the sprouts and use the wilted spuds!---they still taste good,fry good, mash good!!!
Ours get turned from box to box every 2 weeks while in storage, which helps keep the sprouting process confused too! thanks; sonny
