THIS IS MY PLANT BED for tomatoes and cabbage. We use to raise then in the tobacco plant bed but we dont grow it any more.
Does a great job. and only cost about $20.00 for seed and the cover which can be reused. We get the land prepaired and dig a furrow around the bed to lay the edges of the plastic in and cover it up with dirt. after sowing the seed we roll it to pack the seed then sprinkle it with water before putting the cover on. it will be taken off every now and the to water. after the plants come up, you take the cover off during the day to keep the tinder plants from getting too hot. then put it back on at night.

We used to burn a brush pile over the bed to sterilize the soil. I remember the panic to uncover the bed if the sun popped out on a cloudy cool day.
Best,
Mike
