This is about the earliest that I have had all of the garden planted in a LONG time
Finished up today by finally getting the sweet corn planted. I have not grown it before
due to the amount of space it requires but I finally gave in and planted some to try and keep the wife
happy.
This year I have 20 tomatos, several peppers, egg plant, zucchini, Cucumbers, Cantalope, Greenbeans and Bodacious corn. All of this is planted in a garden that is roughly 30 x 70.
I plowed this last fall with the Super C and the plow that I bought and a 10' JD disc that was given to me. Not the best looking plot in the world but it will work for me. I also made a couple of passes with the cub and plow combo.
It really needed rototilled but that will wait til next year.
Rows are far from straight and there will be weeds and grass growing among the rest of the stuff but who am I to care?
Any of you got the gardens planted yet and what do yo have?

I plowed, disced, and planted yesterday. Wife put in tomatoes, green peepers, pumpkins, and onions. I haven't got the sweet corn in yet. Neighbor across the road has about 2" plants already. I may have to buy some from him to get me until mine comes up. I love fresh sweet corn out of the garden.

I sterted my first "real" garden this spring. It's about 50'x100'. I planted it all about 7 or 8 days ago. 1/2 of the garden is three types of corn, then I have (so far) egg plant, zuccini, carrots, tomtos, squash, green beans, cucumbers, OOPS...forgot the cantalope but I have a few rows left. The pumpkin patch will be in a different area (same field) & will be planted next weekend. I plan on going overboard with a 50'x100' area. I'll take my son and daughter (3 and 6) and their friends for cub rides in the 529 utility wagon to the great pumpkin patch If I have enough, I'll figure out how to give them to needy families.

David, That looks a little large to be considered a garden to me.

Can any of you tell me what the red dye is that came on my seed corn?

Have 2 1/2 acres not in CRP - going to try organic popcorn on most of it. Going to have to rework the super C cultivator - hasn't been used in a while! Have my potatoes & onions in the small garden. Hope t o get tomatoes etc. in this week. w/do a lot of mulching to keep weeds down (hopefully)! friends get me all the sweet corn we can use & freeze! Nothing like garden tomatoes!

Got a good start the other day on my garden, plowed and disked the sweetcorn patch in the garden

Than I used my 1 row planter to put in 6 rows of corn seed.


Yesterday I took the spring tooth drag over the potatoe ground and tomorrow I will rototill the rows for the spuds, going to put in 7.5 pounds reds and 8 pounds whites.
Potatoe ground is on the left side (north) of the photo above.
South side og garden will be for the carrots, radish, cucumber, peas, pumkins.

The planter is made from a JD #71 flex planter. Made to fit the sleeve hitch of the cub cadet.

Got the tatter ground worked up this afternoon.




Planted 8 pounds of reds and 7.5 pounds of whites. Should have lost of spuds this fall if they all produce.

notice the wheelbarrow full of garlic i grew last year! this year's garden is similar, and as soon as i get the pic's off the camera, i'll post'em. here's a pic of the Brandywine (heirloom) tomatoes i grew... man, you can't beat the Brandywine for flavor and size!
