Son has a large, year round wet area. This area is on the side of a slope (hill). Property size is 4/10 acre and is in a small rural town.
Need recommendations for a decorative grass that will grow in wet - damp areas and be next to maintenance free. Grass height - perhaps no more than 3 or 4 feet tall.
Grass has to be safe - no sharp leaves, non toxic, etc., - neighborhood kids .
I have an excuse. CRS.

that is a hard find most of the grasses go between 6 and 10 foot tall when mature in the fall. all of them will need to be cut in the fall and regrow in the spring

Eugene, Here is some information to help: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/garden/07232.htmlhttp://www.utextension.utk.edu/publications/pbfiles/pb1626.pdfLook toward the end of each of these publications for a chart of the characteristics for the varities of the grasses. Bill

Gets a little taller than 4 feet, but he might try bamboo. A cousin put it out in a wet spot at her place, and it is trying to take everything.
