Does anyone have any expertise on Chestnut tree identification? I have what I think is a yellow Buckeye here in southern Minnesota based on leaf and fruit comparison pictures on the internet. Are they edible? We pick them up by the bucket and use them for holiday decoration.

Thanks. The pictures sure look like the leaf and nut that I have. I didn't think they could grow this far north but I guess they can from the zone map. It is a nice tree and the nuts are very pretty, 1-2 inches. I tried one and it was bitter. One of the sites said that they are poisonous to humans but I guess I survived.
