One on the left will be tasty when it has time to cure. The giant ones are fun to dig but are not as tasty.

Re: sweet taters
Well I dug the rest cause we got so much rain and the garden was a pure mudhole. So, I dug them all out by hand so they would not rot.
Just a little bigger. The ones on the cutting board were out of 3 hills yesterday. The other is just one of many today

yep Sonny, but i can feed a family of 8 with that one tater. LOL
Do not know why the one set of hills did so poorly. When i dug the rest today, I got a lot of taters that size and just a bit smaller.

Re: sweet taters
I didn't think I would have any sweet potatos since the ground was a bit cold when I planted them even though it was early June. After seeing this post I dug one hill.

Wow I thought I will have a few even if only a half dozen hills grew and a couple that just sat for a month. Of course I dug the best hill first so I was a bit disappointed when I dug the rest.

The entire crop. Oh well, wait until next year. Vern

Re: sweet taters
mine are still in the ground, when I planted them and they started growing, then the rabbits kept eatting the tops, now the rabbits are bigger, they cant get through the fence, the taters started growing again. so I dont know what to expect when I can get out to dig them.
