Best darn sorta oatmeal cookies. Highly recommended.
1 c. White sugar
1 c. Brown Sugar
1 c. Shortening (butter tastes better)
3/4 c. Milk
3 Eggs
1 tsp. Soda
3 tsp. Baking powder
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 1/2 c. Flour (sifted)
2 c. Oatmeal
1/2 c. Nutmeats (Black Walnuts prefered)
1 c. Raisins
Mix sugars, shortening, add eggs then milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, nuts and raisins. Drop by tsp. on cookie sheet. Sprinkle on sugar and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Hey Eugene, I'll bet the wife doesn't let you fix the cookies and be around her pots and pans after that carburetor re-build does she. Just kidding, Pete
These sound good, will have to try them soon. Thanks for the recipe!

Nope, I just whine a bit and ask her to bake the cookies. Works every time. Only problem is that I had to wash dishes tonight.
