buttermilk pie

Postby ellen » Mon Oct 06, 2008 6:08 pm

This is the pie that I took to stonethrow
hope you enjoy it as much as they did.
Ellen :||):

Buttermilk Pie
Pre heat 275

3 Eggs
2/3 cup buttermilk
2 Cups sugar
2 Tbsp flour
1&½ tsp. Vanilla
Pinch of salt
¼ cup melted butter or marg.
1 prepared pie shell, deep dish. You can use 2 regular pie shells just dont cook as long.

Beat eggs with a whisk
Add Buttermilk, mix well
Add remaining ingredients, mix well
Pour into pie shell
Bake 275 for 10 min
Then 300 for 50 min.

Pie will be a little jiggly in the middle. I usually have to add 10 more min. 5 min. at a time. When done I turn oven to broil and watch as it browns on top.
It is best served cold.
If you find that pie is to soft in the middle just add a little more flour next time.
Enjoy!!

Yep, me and ole Andrew thought we had missed out on that pie. We were getting a little anxious till we found another whole one!!

And as Andrew said, that pie is a winner!!

Thanks, Ellen, for bringing 'em. I'm gonna be sure one gets baked here this week-end. Heck, maybe a batch of those German Chocolate cookies, too.
C'mon over Andrew, we'll try them cookies right out of the oven!
