1 stick of butter
1 box vanilla cake mix
fresh or frozen fruit
grease the bottom of a casserole dish with butter, put the fruit in the casserole dish, then melt the butter and mix it with the cake mix. cover the fruit with the cake/butter mix and bake on 325 until the fruit is bubbly and the top is gold. approximately 35-45 min

We also make this kind in a dutch oven on the hot coals while camping. I like apple or peach.

That's pretty much the way we did it in scouts, and that's how dad and I still do it. Hard to beat ! And a scoop of vanilla ice cream.........cant beat the simple things

Tell you what, using fresh well ripe pears this will send you back for seconds and thirds.

Yup Phil, that's almost exactly how we did it. We just threw in some extra cinnamon and cooked in a dutch oven. Cast iron is the only way to do it
